19 August 1997 Tommy Graham is suspended from the Parliamentary Labour Party pending an investigation into allegations of corruption within the Paisley and Renfrewshire Labour parties raised by the suicide of Gordon McMaster MP.

9 September 1998 Tommy Graham is formally expelled from the Parliamentary Labour Party on the grounds of misconduct.
