7 October 1955 Disqualification of Thomas Mitchell on the grounds that he was a felon. Charles Beattie was declared elected.
15 December 1955 Disqualification of Charles Beattie on the grounds that he occupied an office of profit under the Crown - he was a member of three Northern Ireland National Insurance and National Assistance Tribunals.
March 1956 A Bill was passed indemnifying Charles Beattie of the consequences of sitting and voting in the House while disqualified, although it did not ratify his election.
