14 February 1781 Petition - Lord Frederick Campbell unseated and George Elphinstone declared elected. The House of Commons agreed that the scheduling of the election on the earliest possible day, which happened to be 1 day before new freeholders became valid voters, was unfair and found that Elphinstone was elected by 42 votes to 29.
