Prior to the General Election the local Liberal Association decided to adopt John MacCormick in preference to Sir Murdoch Macdonald. As a result of this decision a number of people who had supported Macdonald formed a new Liberal Association. Sir Murdoch Macdonald was then adopted as an Independent Liberal pledged to support Winston Churchill. |
