6 March 1833 Petition: Owen Ellis-Nanney claimed that 67 votes cast by non-burgesses at Pwllheli had been wrongly accepted. The court agreed, and Ellis-Nanney was declared elected. | |||||
22 May 1833 Petition: Hon Sir Charles Paget claimed that Owen Ellis-Nanney used bribery. The House of Commons decided that most of the disputed votes were valid because the franchise had been amended by the 1832 Reform Act to resident ratepayers, and declared that Hon Sir Charles Paget was elected. | |||||
